If your bag has a production-related quality issue, please contact us within 30 days of receiving it. We'll either send you a brand new one or you can choose to receive a full refund. If there is no production-related quality issue, orders are final sale.
Caring for your bag
This bag is made to withstand machine washing. However, we recommend to wash it by hand in order to avoid unnecessary abrasion of the fabric fibres and reach a more delicate result. We recommend spot cleaning the bag for as long as you can before completely washing it, in order to maintain its sturdiness.
Spot cleaning instructions:
- Marks:
- Depending on the type of mark, you may be able to get rid of it by rubbing a white eraser.
- For tougher marks, damp a cloth with a solution of water and mild detergent and rub area in circular motion.
- Oily stains: Apply 3% hydrogen peroxide (commonly found in pharmacies). Rub stained area in circular motion using dry cloth. Start with a small amount and increase as needed until desired result is achieved.
Hand washing instructions:
- Fill up a sink or basin with a solution of water and mild detergent.
- Push bag into the solution gently using your two hands, making sure water reaches all surfaces of the bag.
- Brush areas with accentuated dirt or marks.
- Do not bleach.
- Drying:
- Use a towel to pat dry the bag. Remove any spots of water accumulation and flatten wrinkled spots.
- Hang the bag by its handles in a well-ventilated area and let it air dry completely.
Machine washing instructions:
- Machine wash cold, delicate cycle. You may need to run the bag through two or even three cycles in the first time you wash the bag, as canvas is water repellent when new.
- Do not bleach.
- Drying: Hang the bag by its handles in a well-ventilated area and let it air dry completely.
- If needed, iron on medium heat setting.
- As this bag is mainly made of unprocessed 100% cotton canvas, expect 10% to 15% shrinkage of the undyed parts.

The first time I saw these bags (served up in an ad on instagram) I was skeptical. I thought "this is probably just another well branded product with good photos that I'll receive and find out it's terrible"
GOODNESS WAS I WRONG.
First, the price is unmatched. It's so affordable for a completely custom-to-you product. I kept adding customizations and felt like the price stayed in a nice range.
Second, the QUALITY. This tote is built so so well and the material isn't some lame/flimsy canvas. It's the ridged, structured, solid canvas you always want in a bag. You can set it on the ground by itself and it'll continue standing. Lovely.
I was always looking for the perfect "utility tote". A tote that I could use on the daily and allows me to carry personal items (lip balm, lotion, small scissors, hand sanitizer, water bottle etc.), my "tools" of choice (laptop, iPad, chargers, battery bank, umbrella, notebooks etc), and still have room for other things as my day evolves, im with my daughter, we purchase something, etc.
This really is an incredible tote bag. I'm confident that I'll put it through the wringer and report back that it's holding up just fine, and feels better over time.
A couple upgrades I would love to see:
• The ability to have an All Black version. The canvas color is great, but It would be awesome to have a full black version that could help hide dirt, etc.
• I would love either a full waxed canvas version, or simply to opt to have the bottom of the tote be waxed canvas. Something that would stay a bit more stable over time and gain a cool look with age.

This is my second Rather Green bag. I ordered the med size to use for work. My books, iPad, lunch, raincoat, hat/gloves etc fit easily in the main part. I work with children, so it also holds random items like rocks and toys. I would have loved this bag when my son was a baby; it would be a great diaper bag! All of the pockets are perfect for tissue, chapstick, keys, hand cream, water bottles… this is basically a Mary Poppins bag. I got the extra pouch to put some extra girl things in, and the extra snaps are great. I DO wish I’d added the long strap, so I’ll get that on my third one:). I have no doubt my bags will be with me for a long time; the quality of fabric and workmanship is fantastic.
The quality of this bag is exceptional. I love the fact that I could customize it to my needs. It is now my weekly go to for things that need to go back and forth to the cottage. Those pockets fit a wine bottle perfectly!
This bag is perfect in every way. I love it. Also great customer service. Always go a response within a day. I got short handles, shoulder strap and the best thing ever, a luggage strap! the luggage strap is what made me pull the trigger to purchase. I wish all bags had this.
The bag is gorgeous. Incredibly well made. It is sturdy, the endless pockets are fantastic, and I couldn't be happier. I have an oddly sized water bottle that comes with me everywhere, and was concerned it wouldn't fit the external pockets. I messaged them directly and they organized for my bag to be modified to fit the bottle. They were so kind to do so and I'm very grateful. I love my bag, and will for YEARS to come.

This bag is so sturdy and holds everything I need as a teacher. I take it every day and it fits everything I take with me: my laptop, lunch, charges, binders, water bottle, coffee cup, phone, hand cream, tooth brush, tooth paste and even more! I added the snaps on the top and it’s the best! I love this bag! I would buy from Rather Green again. It also shipped very fast. The best part, they are a Canadian company! Big thumbs up!
